Food Sensations® for Adults is a state-wide food literacy community education & skills development program.
Food Sensations® for Adults
Food Sensations® for Adults is a state wide nutrition and cooking program. It has been designed to give participants a good understanding of healthy eating, as well as skills in how to purchase and prepare healthy foods. All sessions are hands-on, fun and provide a safe environment to try new recipes and skills. The program is open to organisations with established groups, the general public and to Community Resource Centres via video conferencing. Food Sensations for Adults is funded by the WA Department of Health.
The Program* consists of 4 sessions:
Session 1 - 'Healthy eating and cooking'
Session 2 - 'Label reading, food selection and cooking'
Session 3 - 'Meal planning, budgeting and cooking'
Session 4 - Cooking and an optional topic from the following:
- Lunch boxes and healthy snacks
- Supermarket tour
- Healthy mind, healthy body
- Gardening for health (available at select locations)
*Please note: Food Sensations for Adults is a 4 session program, participants must attend ALL four sessions.
